The Center for Power Electronics and Drives (C-PED) has been founded in 2016 by the Department of Engineering, Roma Tre University, and the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Rome Tor Vergata. The C-PED operates with reference to subjects that today are identified with the terms of Smart Energy, Smart Grids, Smart Cities. The main research topics of the Center are related to the distributed generation of electrical power both for stationary applications and sustainable transportation, as the fast-charging stations and electric or hybrid propulsion drives, power electronics systems for electricity grid management, aircraft and satellite equipment, industrial automation, off-shore floating wind power generation, energy recovery substations, power supplies for nuclear fusion generators.
