Abstract |
The concepts of Distributed Clocks combined with the temporal determinism of EtherCAT allow possibilities that did not exist a few years ago. Distributed clocks virtually remove system jitter paving the way for oversampling of I/O and very precise time stamping of events. Examples from bio-medical, packaging, and entertainment industry are provided. |
