The Institute of Control Engineering of the Technische Universität Braunschweig has two main research areas: Control Engineering and Automotive Electronics. The research activities in Control Engineering are characterized by the title “control of mechatronic systems”, including (sensorless) control of electrical drives. New high performance FPGA-based control concepts have been developed to allow control with high bandwidth. Control of robots and machine tools as well as control of magnetic bearings supplement this field of research.
