Renesas Starter Kit+ for RX72M

The RX72M Group microcontrollers are high performance products operating at 240 MHz with RX's 3rd generation CPU core "RXv3 core". Double-precision floating-point processing instructions can significantly improve processing power.

In the industrial equipment market, performance and functionality improvements lead to larger program code sizes. As a result, storage capacity and read speed play key roles in determining real-time performance. The RX72M device offers up to 4 megabytes (MB) of on-chip flash memory that perform read operations at a frequency of 120 MHz, among the fastest in the industry, as well as 1 MB of on-chip SRAM. This ample on-chip memory eliminates the need for external memory, which has slower read speeds, and makes it possible to extract the full performance capacity of the CPU.

It incorporates an EtherCAT slave controller and realizes a system configuration that requires a dedicated controller on a single chip, contributing to a reduction in the number of parts and space saving.

The Renesas Starter Kit+ for RX72M is the perfect starter kit for developers who are new to the RX72M (Code Flash 4MB, Pin Count 224-pin). The kit includes an Ethernet PHY IC, RJ45 connectors, EtherCAT LEDs and an on-chip debugging emulator. The integrated development environment is provided by Renesas Web, so you can start evaluating RX72M immediately after opening the box.
