The Power Plant Engineering Technology Research Institute is one of the five backbone research institutes under Harbin Engineering University, with a high-level talent pool with a reasonable knowledge structure and age structure. Over the years, remarkable efforts have been made in the control of vibration and noise in ship power plants, and fruitful scientific research results have been achieved. In recent years, it has undertaken multiple research projects in areas such as high-tech projects, 211 projects, vehicle and ship power projects, and national defense basic scientific research. As of now, there are more than 10 types of ships in service and under construction in China that have been provided with muffler devices by Harbin Engineering University, with a total supply of over 1200 mufflers.
