EtherCAT Slave Information (ESI) Specification
The ETG.2000 EtherCAT Slave Information (ESI) specification describes the structure of ESI files using the corresponding XML schema, including EtherCAT P and SCI (Slave Configuration Information). The SCI allows to specify use-case specific device descriptions, containing a complete configuration.
The ETG.2000 ESI Specification 1.0.14.2 incl. the corresponding xsd-schema files 1.17.1 is for available for a 6 week ETG review. Besides the new features "ModuleGroups" there are several improvements and enhancements. Review period ends Oct 13, 2023.
The ESI (EtherCAT SubDevice Information) file is the XML-based device description file that comes with any EtherCAT SubDevice. It contains supported features and information that a EtherCAT configuration tool needs to enable one to configure and set-up the EtherCAT network. The ETG.2000 specifies the used elements and attributes and their content. The xsd-schema can be used together with an XML editor for verification of the file and support during editing the file.
You may not copy, distribute or “mirror” the files or printed versions of the documents, or any part of it, without permission in writing from the ETG (EtherCAT Technology Group).
