Oil & gas), and systems for public infrastructure (ITS, PropTech, Smart Cities, etc.).

DARWIN research group is devoted to realizing machines that can mimic biological intelligence by exploiting novel non-conventional sensing (e.g., vision, acoustic) and establishing foundational artificial intelligence (AI) concepts. With core competencies on new technologies involving pattern analysis methods, smart sensors, machine learning and visualization, the group aims at autonomic systems contributing to tipping points in the next decade that can contribute to security and well-being of our society. One of the key research services of this group is enabling safe automation and autonomous operations capabilities for situation awareness, cost optimization and sustainable operation development of industrial and other processes.
