snickerdoodle

snickerdoodle is a rugged, business-card-sized, low-cost System-on-Module (SoM) based on the Xilinx Zynq®-7000 SoC and designed for the development and commercialization of industrial systems.

Built for real-time control and communication, snickerdoodle has 180 software-reconfigurable I/O tied to a dual Arm Cortex™-A9 + FPGA SoC for maximum flexibility and performance in automation, sensing, signal processing, and system integration applications. snickerdoodle also has a dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 radio, 1GB DDR RAM, a positive-locking microSD card cage, QSPI boot flash, and a platform controller for power and boot management. Additional interfaces include: 10/100/1000 Ethernet, CAN 2.0, USB 2.0, UART, SPI, I2C, 12b ADCs, JTAG, u.FL antenna jacks, USB serial console, and user buttons.

With options for both the 7Z010 and 7Z020 Zynq SoCs, snickerdoodle can be used as a standalone platform or plugged into a krtkl baseboard, e.g. piSmasher (with two TSN-capable gigabit Ethernet ports). snickerdoodle also enables the rapid development of custom or application-specific baseboards for end-product implementation. The module can be purchased in individual and high-volume quantities.

An EtherCAT Slave Controller IP core for Xilinx FPGAs is available from Beckhoff Automation GmbH. EtherCAT Master IP cores are available from various Xilinx Alliance partners.
