MACS4-DC6: Multi-Axis Motion Control

Multi-axis motion control slave with integrated power amplifiers

The MACS4-DSP is a compact and low-cost solution for positioning up to six DC motors. Typical fields of applications are automated mechanical stop adjustment in machines or multi-axis positioning in analytic devices or small robots.

The MACS4-DC6 offers license-free programmability combined with all features for multi-axis drive positioning. Since the motion control functionality is integrated in the device, there is no need for major PLC upgrades or specialized libraries. Highly accurate multi-axis positioning is supported by powerful commands that are processed in the background and are independent of the main loop cycle time of a PLC.

Ready-to-run applications like a DS402 multi-axis motion control slave, offer a quick-start solution while still keeping the flexibility to add specialized functionality.

All interfaces required for drive positioning are integrated in the compact housing. Up to six encoder ports support different types of encoders such as incremental, SSI and SinCos. One encoder port can also be used for generating a virtual encoder output signal for usage by other devices. Additional standard fieldbus interfaces enable features like an EtherCAT / CAN gateway.

Features:

  • 6-axis motion control slave with integrated servo amplifiers
  • 6 PWM power stages for DC motors, up to 48V DC, each up to 180W peak
  • OEM versions for brushless or more powerful drives available
  • License-free motion control features integrated,
i.e. no need for additional libraries, no need for runtime licenses
  • Free programmable
  • Predefined applications available,
    e.g. DS402 multi-axis motion-control slave
  • Multi-axis positioning
  • EtherCAT / CAN gateway
  • 6 encoder ports (RS422, SSI, SinCos)
  • 12 digital inputs / 4 digital outputs
