Mr. Martin Rostan
Executive Director, EtherCAT Technology Group

Martin Rostan studied Aerospace Engineering in Germany and in the United Kingdom and received his Diploma Degree in 1992. Subsequently he managed the international research project that developed the initial CANopen technology. From 1996 until 1998 he was marketing manager and authorized officer at Selectron. Since 1998 he is with Beckhoff, first as senior product manager for Ethernet and fieldbus systems and since 2006 as Head of Technology Marketing.
Martin serves the fieldbus community in various committees: he is the Executive Director of the EtherCAT Technology Group, chairs the CANopen groups inside CAN in Automation and represents Beckhoff in ODVA and in several conference program committees. He also is technical expert in ISO and IEC standardization committees for industrial communication. With publications in magazines, text books, conferences and symposia he contributes to the dissemination of fieldbus and Ethernet technologies.

Mr. Hafez Alsayed
Managing Director Gulf countries at Beckhoff Automation

Hafez AlSayed holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Ajman University, specializing in instrumentation and control, with three published papers. Hafez host internship program for undergraduate students from the engineering department for two universities to help them for their career path and implementing their technical know-how in the current market.
He is an official member in the Global Young Presidents' Organization for extraordinary chief executives as well a member in Young Arab leader organization founded by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid. Hafez has been working in Beckhoff Automation for the past seven years and as regional managing director for the GCC region for the past five year, Manages the overall operation and profit and loss. He demonstrates a history of working in the industrial automation industry and management. Strong engineering professional skilled in Automation Programming, technical and commercial solutions related to the Automation industry and market, focusing on strategic approach and development in GCC region for different market verticals including Robotics, Digitalization, AI, Machinery, Building Automation, and Process Industry concentrates on oil and gas.
Hafez mentorship entrepreneurs in middle east for their startups and participates in many technical conferences and committees. He is in Ajman University industrial advisory board for Electrical Engineering Program since 2020.
