The Semiconductor Power Electronics Center is a research center of excellence in the areas of high density and medium voltage power electronics, power management integrated circuits, power semiconductor device and packaging, renewable energy systems etc. SPEC research is conducted with strong industry guidance, focused on training students, performing and publishing world-class research, designing, building, and testing first-of-a-kind devices and systems, technology transfer to industry and to spin-out companies, providing advice to the government, educating the public through demonstrations and pilot projects etc.
