The Chair of Power Electronics & Drives Systems researches power electronic devices and their control for diverse application: electrical power generation, transmission, and storage as well as full electric/hybrid flight, electrical vehicles, and hybrid locomotives, addressing critical challenges. Specialized labs allow creating prototypes and testing utility devices (up to hundreds kW), refining power converters, control systems, and drive systems for optimal performance, adaptability, and robustness. Combining theoretical knowledge with practical testing, the chair actively advances power electronics and drive systems.
