Spellman High Voltage Power Electronics Lab
The Spellman High Voltage Power Electronics Laboratory at Stony Brook University focuses on high-power-density, high-efficiency converters, including power module packaging, integration, and high-power-density EMI filtering activities. The lab is heavily engaged in various research activities in high-performance power electronics energy conversion. It also provides a research and service platform for power-module packaging and high-density converter integration. Packaging processes supported in the lab include substrate processing, die attaching, wire bonding, flip-chip bonding, and encapsulation. The lab can provide grid-tied power testing and motor testing capability. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art EMI/EMC research platforms that cover both conducted and radiated measurements and provide pre-compliance EMI testing.
